The state of Georgia will soon be allowing people to claim an embryo as a dependent on their taxes. They’re been given the go ahead from the courts to redefine “personhood” as being a fetus or embryo. The court stated that anyone with a detectable heartbeat qualifies for the tax exemption. Georgians will be able to be pregnant and claim the $3,000 before the baby is born. It also makes it possible for single mothers to file for child support and money to cover the costs of childbirth. Of course, giving an embryo “personhood” rights is going to bring on a huge load of other legal issues ranging from inheritance issues to problems arising from miscarriage.
Child tax deduction for embryos.
