New drug makes pig heart beat an hour after dying. Hello Franken-Bacon!

By Austin Michael Aug 4, 2022 | 6:50 PM

Scientists have moved closer to creating a Frankenstein’s monster by reviving dead pig cells. They didn’t require any Tesla Coils, lightning, or hunchbacked helpers. No, scientists at Yale used a mysterious new solution called OrganEx which got the heart of a dead pig to start beating again…… and hour after it died. The injection also helped keep the body from getting stiff like it normally would.

What would be the best name for this thing, Franken Piggy? Franken Oinker? Franken Bacon? Yes, Franken Bacon has the best ring, and flavor, to it. Anyhoo, this comes after they revived a pig’s brain cells with a different drug called BrainEx.

This dredges up memories from when I was a kid and the movie “Re-Animator” came out. There’s a scientist with a mysterious neon green drug that brings dead things back to life. And, of course, everything goes all wrong. It still creeps me out.
