LPD Arrests 18 Year Old Man In Casey’s Convenience Store Shooting

An 18 year old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened last weekend at the Casey’s Convenience Store at 4411 North 27th
Street.  LPD says Dominic Gomez was taken into custody around 12:30 Thursday afternoon in the area of South 12th and ‘A’ Streets.

He was booked for 1st Degree Assault, Use of a Deadly Weapon To Commit a Felony and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.  Around 11:00 p.m. on August 20th officers were called to the Casey’s on a report of a man who had been shot.  They found a 31-year-old man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his leg.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.  The investigation is ongoing and LPD encourages anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Lincoln Police Department at 402.441.6000 or to make an anonymous report to call Lincoln Crime
