Goodwill has opened an online shopping site at GoodwillFinds.com. I visited and the first thing I clicked on is the “Halloween Costumes”. They had a lot for kids, but I got the impression that you have to jump on things quick. Half the items listed had “sold” on them. Besides that, there are tons of other stuff in electronics, collectibles, books, jewelry, and everything else you’d find in the stores. I like the convenience factor. However, when I go in the stores, I feel like I’m treasure hunting. There’s a kind of thrill of doing a little digging and discovering a prize. I also rely on thrift stores for items that I need for a single occasion where buying a brand new thing would be too much. For instance, one Christmas I gave all the men on my list something I called “Manskets”. They were wicker baskets that I filled with manly items. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on new baskets. Last year, I gave everyone food themed presents inside of ice coolers. Brand new, just one cooler would have cost 50 dollars. At the thrift store, they were around 8 bucks each.
Goodwill opens 1st online store. It’s sort of like a giant internet garage sale.
