She worked 44 days and now gets a pension of $130,000 a year for the rest of her life. I’m talking about Liz Truss. She was the Prime Minister of England until yesterday. She only held that office for 44 days and then resigned. Even though it was only 6 weeks, she now gets 115,000 pounds or just a few bucks less than $130,000 in US dollars annually. All former Prime Ministers get it. The way I understand it, it’s a way of paying Prime Ministers back for money fulfilling duties while in office.
Do they not get paid while in office? They make $186,000 a year. I guess I thought that the government pays for everything for the Prime Minister like we do for the President. Except I was wrong. I thought the food in the White House was free. The Chef is, but the first family has to pay for groceries. The President and First Lady have to buy their own designer clothing. Designers can gift them, but the outfits have to be donated after one use. They also have to pay for their own vacations like hotels. However, the government covers all the security that comes with it. Oh yeah, they also have to pay for their own toilet paper and other household items.
