Computers made of paper, chips out of honey, and circuits on tea cups. They’ve figured out how to do all of this.

The future of computers could be……. Paper. Researchers at the State University Of New York came up with a new way to print circuit boards on paper. It’s a special process that uses wax, conductive ink, a little bit of metal and gel based electrolytes. The ink acts as transistors and capacitors allowing for the whole thing to be as flexible as the paper. Which is cool, but the real reason they were shooting for was to get away from all the plastic, glass, metal, and other stuff that ends up in landfills.

This comes after other researchers came up with a way to create computer chips using honey. And the chips gets computers closer to thinking creatively like humans. They get the honey to exactly mimic how human synapses work. What’s next, printing circuit boards on tee shirts? Actually, yes. That can be done now too. In fact, any smooth surface will work from tea cups of pieces of fruit.
