I was thinking about Sugar Plums and realized that I have never seen a sugar plum, much less eaten one. I bet most people wouldn’t even know one if they saw it. They’re not even plums. They’re usually nuts and dried fruits, that aren’t plums, spices, and sugars all balled up together. Some people dip them in chocolate or roll them in more sugar. You can get fancy and roast the nuts, but it’s not necessary. I bet if you made some and took them to a holiday party, you could get some attention by asking everyone if they’ve ever had a Sugar Plum. They’ll say “no”. Then pull the ones you made out and say, “Well here’s the first experience for you. I’m the coolest.”
Like the roasting of the nuts, it’s not necessary to say “I’m the coolest”, but they both add some flair.
