I’m always looking for new takes on foods, especially holiday dishes. Today I found a recipe that mixes cinnamon rolls with egg nog, baked together. It’s another fairly easy treat to make. There are the usual cinnamon roll ingredients, but you’re going to add actual egg nog, sour cream, and nutmeg.
It’s been my experience that a lot of homemade cinnamon rolls during the holidays dry out really quick after being put out. And the bread doesn’t really have much flavor. It’s kind of like people are afraid to add enough cinnamon and sugar. The sour cream and egg nog will keep if softer longer. The nutmeg will add another layer of flavor, intermixing with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
The cream cheese frosting glaze also includes egg nog. It’s easy to make. Maybe make extra and don’t skimp on the frosting. Too many people skimp on the frosting. Guests and family will love eating these while rubbing the sleep out of their eyes on Christmas morning.
